"Fishing" by Daria Swales
There were 15 entries in total, and all of these will feature on our 2017 Calendar which will be on sale from the opening of the Annual Exhibition.
Now that the summer approaches and the evenings are lighter and brighter we have begun to plan the programme for the year.
To begin, we will have the following Tutor-led classes with Billy Caulfield:-
Mondays – An introduction to Watercolour Painting.
Either experienced painters in other mediums or those who wish to brush up on their skills are all welcome. You may be a total beginner to watercolours - if so this is the class for you. We will meet on a Monday evening 6.30pm – 8.30pm and the cost will be £4.00 for members and £5.00 for non-members. Materials can be supplied but if you have your own please bring them along.
Wednesdays – Still Life.
Also meeting from 6.30pm – 8.30pm and the cost will be the same as on a Monday. The class will explore the shading, colours and textures of individual pieces and will progress to set landscapes of items. From there, we will work towards a finished painted piece of work. This can be in a medium of your choice. For this class please bring along ONE item which is either white or a very pale pastel colour. It should if possible not have labels or designs on it and the plainer the better. This could be groceries, cleaning items, toys or some other thing from your home. Avoid flowers and vases unless the vase is a particularly interesting shape. The size does not matter so much as the sides surfaces corners or curves.
There are now sign-on sheets in the Cottar House Studios.
Looking forward to seeing you all.
