IMPROVE YOUR PASTELS SKILLS

Saturday 28th April 11am - 4pm
Workshop with Clare Yarrington on Pastels 
in Cottar House Studios and Club Rooms

The day includes a short talk with demonstration followed by a hands-on session based on still-life objects and/or outside sketching dependent on the weather. 
​Bring your own pastels if you have them.​
You should also bring a packed lunch. Tea/coffee will be freely available

 

Clare Yarrington graduated from Edinburgh University with an MA (Hons) in Archaeology and later with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Sheffield Hallam University. As an archaeologist Clare worked on excavations, post-excation projects and for nine years was Archaeological Illustrator at Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums. Since leaving archaeology to pursue a full-time career as a visual artist she has exhibited nationally and internationally, winning several awards, including the JD Fergusson Art Award (2009), and the Derbyshire Trophy in Buxton (2006).
 
She is a member of Fife Dunfermline Printmakers and Perth Visual Arts Forum and has served on committees for both as their exhibition curator and chairperson respectively.

The Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday 25th March 2018 in the Cottar House Studios

A very successful meeting and two extra members were added to the Committee. The Trustees Annual Report is now available in the "Annual Reports" page. A full report of the meeting will follow.

 

ANNUAL EXHIBITION 2018

in the fifespace gallery of Rothes Halls

Here is a selection of images from last Saturday's Official Opening and Private View of the 2018 Glenrothes Art Club Annual Exhibition. The Opening was performed by Vanessa Motion, Breakfast Presenter and Head of Music at Kingdom FM. The welcome speech was made by Lilian Sloan, Art Club President. The Exhibition is open in the Rothes Halls until 25th May.
