The Arty Bunch trying new techniques

Have a look at some of the amazing pieces created by The Arty Bunch on their Wednesday afternoon sessions. Remember these are by young people aged between 7 and 16., led by our lovely tutor Shannen.

Here is her explanation of the work:

They are Bokeh style acrylic paintings, which is a Japanese photography art style featuring out of focus lights to create soft shapes and pleasant overall value. We used three different reference images (included in photos) with varying compositions and levels of difficulty, some with the option of a cool or warm tone as well for the more advanced students. It was a good challenge for them to focus on the undefined forms and composition instead of the traditional approach using line and shape, and I think they did a super job for a first time.

The sessions are pretty full but contact us if you’d like your young person to attend and we’ll see what we can do.
